If you would like to read our specific rules for this doll group, please read below:

The policies outlined here and the decisions based on those policies are made for the health of this group and will be enforced. Your administrators created this forum/group/list to be a friendly, comfortable environment and we intend to maintain it that way. Members are expected to comply with these policies and the moderator decisions regarding message content, post removal and so forth. We do not expect you to agree with every decision we make because at times we may all see things differently, but please know we do make these decisions with your best interest as a whole for the group. We will truly try to make what we feel is the best decision for everyone.

While membership is open to all, that doesn’t mean it’s a public free-for-all. It is in fact a privately owned group/website, and being a member of a private group/website does not give you a right to do what you wish. Please treat others with respect and courtesy on this forum/list/group. No flaming, bashing, rudeness, nastiness, gossiping, disparaging comments about other collectors, retailers or businesses will be permitted on this list/forum/group. (This includes posts about Marie Osmond and or Charisma which both are members of this doll group) In short, if it’s negative, keep it to yourself, or keep it private! Yes, you can express an opinion, but TRY to be POLITE. If you POSSIBLY think your topic or reply could cause a problem or argument or even possibly hurt someone by posting it, the best solution is not posting it at all. It's always better to be safe than sorry. You never know who is reading your message or what the ending affect may be.

Please note we ask that everyone please refrain from posting topics about politics or anything controversial. Religion can be discussed here as long as it is in a positive way. This forum is ran and paid for by Christian women who promote a Christian attitude when posting.

If someone posts something that you know to be in violation of these policies or that could possibly be controversial, please don’t respond publicly. If you respond negatively to this post then you yourself are also in violation. Please remember a post with a negative effect is one person's opinion and there are usually two sides to each story. Rest assured, the administrators will deal with negative situations. Please remember though, moderators and administrators are not online 24/7 and don't always catch every post, so please email us if you see a violation.

If your post was either edited or removed, there was a reason for it. If it broke one of the rules, the reasons are apparent and therefore we owe you no explanation. If there was another reason other than a rule being broken, we will do our best to address the issue and explain why we felt it had to be removed/edited. (Please note, I (Tanya) am the one who handles these issues 99% of the time and I am not always well and up to addressing things 24/7, so please keep this in mind)

We also want to remind everyone that we do have a "Retailer Rule" that everyone needs to remember. We have MANY retailers as members of MarieDollfriends and while we support our many retailers, we do not allow any promotion or sales advertising by ANY retailers or collectors. The only sales posts or promotions we allow by a retailer are for NON-Marie Osmond Dolls and Marie Osmond Dolls for sale from their personal collection that were NEVER sold through retail. We do allow and encourage retailers to post information that they have found that could be passed along for the benefit of collectors/members such as new doll info, new doll pictures, etc. Each retailer when posting this type of info to pass on to collectors is encouraged to also list their business name and website address because we do want to acknowledge them for passing along the info to us. We have this retailer rule so that we can remain neutral and treat ALL of our retailer friends/fellow members the same and not cause a posting frenzy or competition between them all which will surely cause ONLY problems. We have posted a list of "Authorized Marie Osmond Doll Retailers" on our main webpage and on the forums. (Please note that many of our retailers requested this rule.)

Please make note:  Marie Osmond and Charisma support this doll group in many, many ways.  Ways that all of us have benefited from and benefit from each day and should be thankful for.  They are also members of our doll group....Therefore we would expect that each member treat posts about them with the same respect that we would expect for each of our members....This means no negative posting. It also means to limit any articles or stories you read in such magazines as National Enquirer, newspapers and anything similar off of our forum about Marie and her family. Please do not post anything on our forums that Marie herself would not mind seeing on the forum or read. She is a member of our doll group and we want to make sure she knows how much we love and support her as a fellow member and dollfriend.

As of 1/4/04, we have implemented a new rule that requires anyone with access to our doll forums to also be a member of our doll group via our Yahoo Email List. Membership via our Yahoo groups is required in order to gain access to the "members only" doll forums here at MarieDollFriends. If you should need to change your email address, please contact us immediately so that we can keep your membership updated with our Yahoo groups.

Each person is required to sign their posts with their first name. (No last name required) If your username is NOT your first name we do expect each and every one of you to sign each of your posts with your first name. If this is something you may forget, please make sure that you add your first name to your signature profile under your control panel on the forum. This is a must for ALL members. It allows the administrators to protect you from possible problems in the future and it also allows us to get to know each other and who we are dealing with.

Also, off-topic posts have been the center of controversy for quite some time. Some members do not care for a LOT of off-topics, therefore we implemented a rule that stated no one should post more than 3 off topic posts per day. Also, please label ALL off-topic posts as O/T for "Off Topics". Please try to adhere to this request so that it will keep everyone happy.

Please limit the number of posts you post in one day on the Dolls for Sale Forum. Please limit it to no more than 3 posts per person, per day and if and when possible minimize the amount of space by using one post for all dolls you have for sale. This way it allows everyone the opportunity to have their post on the front page for a short time.

There are some specific rules set for the Dolls for Sale,Private Items for Sale and Doll Clothes for Sale forums. The rules are pinned at the top of each of these forums. Please read them if you plan to participate on these forums.

A few reminders to keep in mind:

1. Please remember to post any prayer requests in the prayer forum. Also, please post any "Thank you's in relation to prayers/prayer requests in the prayer forum.

2. Any personal items for sale whether dolls or other items should be posted in their perspective forums. We have forums for each of these. We request this because if everyone took advantage of posting a notice that they have something for sale in the general topics forum as well, then there would be no reason for the separate forums and when one person does it, it only leads others to do it as well.

3. We have a reality TV forum and this forum is there for reality TV posts only. The only exception was when Marie was on DWTS...We did allow those posts to be in the general topics forum, but would like for everyone to go back to using the perspective forum.....but please note, shows such as Grey's Anatomy etc, are not reality TV shows and posts can be posted about regular TV shows in the general topics forum.

Also, please limit the requests to pin topics at the top. We try to keep the number of "pinned" topics down per member requests and for administrative use only.

And finally due to various circumstances and events we have had to make the following part of our rules here at MDF:

As many of you know there are members who are banned from this forum due to abuse of either their priviledges as a member or abuse of the administrators and or moderators. There may also be members banned for reasons such as stealing from another member or verbally abusing another member. Often, these troublemakers will try to find a home where they can continue their troublemaking and often they start a forum of their own. We have no trouble with anyone visiting any other forums,  but we DO take issues when one of our members go to another forum whether started by someone who was banned from this forum or not and bashes a member here at MDF or our doll group in general. If you are caught participating in something like this on another forum OR our own forum we will ask you to leave our doll forum and doll group.

As many of you are aware, we do allow members to sell "homemade" items for sale on our forums at no charge. We do ask that anyone who plans to sell merchandise using the MDF name or logo to please ask us first. This is a non-profit doll group and we do not charge fee's and therefore we do not profit from this group and we certainly do not think others should profit from it while we are paying for this site to be ran and offering it to all of you free of charge.

We also have had to make a rule to prohibit members from posting posts asking for donations towards charities/fundraisers that their children, grandchildren, niece, nephews or any type of relative are raising money or funds for. The only donations allowed to ask for on this forum is something that the doll group is working on, i.e. for example: Money raised as a doll group for CMN, Katrina Raffle,  Marie's birthday, in memory of her father, roses for Marie, flower fund and donations made directly to the group. While we would love to help each member raise money for each of their family members, there is no way we can do it for each member and with over 2400 members in this doll group if we allowed these sort of things they would be going on every day. There is also the risk of not knowing the member or their true intentions. (We have had problems with this in the past.)

Also, if you are wanting to do something for a member for whatever reason, i.e. send them flowers, gifts, send something to their family members in need, or whatever, please do not post it on the forum. Please simply email the members on the forum that you know or know the person you are wanting to do this for and ask them if they would like to participate in this particular thing. We do ask that you first contact me (Tanya) and let me know what is being done. We ask that this be kept off of the forum for many reasons. (You will notice that when we have done this for others, we have always handled it by email...with the exception of what we have done for Marie or her family.) We have no problem with you emailing everyone, but unfortunately when its posted on the forum, it encourages problems that the administrative end has to deal with that could possibly cause problems for all of the members.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these simple rules. Lets all make this a place that we can come and relax and enjoy each others company and friendship. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us directly.
